Hi y'all. My name is Jenny (according to my neice it's JJ though and to my friends kids Aunt Ninny) and I'm a newly single mom living in Foley, MO. I have a wonderfully creative little four year old monster named Kara who is better known as Peanut. I'm a computer repair tech/shop manager by day and by night I'm a workout loving, jewelry making, cook-a-holic, crazy brained mom. I have a jewelry design business on that side that sates my creative tendencies and allows me to work with a great friend doing something we love while making a little extra money at it...what could be worse?
I've been a larger girl for as long as I can remember and I'm beyond sick of it. I started on this weight loss journey roughly 2 years ago.
In the past I've done obligatory New Years resolution "diet" that never lasted but a month and would get a bug up my butt a couple of times during the year but never had anything that would motivate me to push further.I've tried every diet you could think of in hopes of the miracle cure but would refuse to move my happy booty. I've ended up going through a divorce and took a long look at life because mine was about to be turned upside down. I've woken up out of my cloud of the past 10 years and decided I needed to be better for not only me but for the Peanut Monster as well. I told myself "Get your ass in gear girl it's time to rock this place" :) Time for my body to reflect my personality that emerges more and more as I become the true (not so shy) me. P.S. There's a whole lot of smart-assed sarcasm involved here.
Some back story as to why I want to get healthier and get off my meds:
I found out that I had hypertension about 3 months before I became pregnant and have been on meds ever since. Through the pregnancy everything went well until I started having fake out contractions with about 2 months to go...they sent me to the hospital. I had preeclempsia which was oh so fu and put me and unborn Peanut in the hospital on bed rest for a couple of weeks. Then after inducing labor and 18 hours of that mess with some extra complications thrown on top of it (she's stubborn folks, no joke!) I had to have an emergency C-section. Once she was out things resumed as normal and *surprise* more weight came on. I did however have the cutest stinking wrinkly 5 pound munchkin that has ever walked this earth to show for it :) I'm bias, leave me alone.
Now we BOTH are eating better and she helps me excersice when she's home. On nights that I don't have her I'm working out with my fantastic trainer: Miss Lauren. The ultimate goal is to be 100 lbs lighter taking it one step at a time. Because of help from this wonderful lady I can now do things I haven't done in years or in some cases EVER!!! I'm currently 20 lbs down and counting... and I can run! (It's not pretty but I do it) Something I haven't done since volleyball tryouts my freshman year in high-school. HOLY POOP :) I'm also now off of one of the meds!!! HOLY POOP AGAIN :)
**Update: As of June 2012 I am off all of my medications!! Now to get the rest of the weight off!
